"The Book Thief" is a novel by Markus Zusak set in Nazi Germany, narrated by Death. It follows the story of Liesel Meminger, a young girl living with a foster family, who steals books and shares them with others, finding solace and humanity in the midst of the horrors of war. Inspired by Liesel's perspective, I wanted to portray how a child might find an old book and make it their own.
